I live in a wonderful community on Lake Michigan with my husband of 30 years. We have two children who still live in Michigan. If you look closely at my illustrations, you might see their names.
We are a family of readers and writing was a dream of mine. Our family has always enjoyed vacationing, or just visiting for a day, on Mackinac Island. Combining my love of reading and my love for Mackinac Island I created the Island Adventures of Mackinac Max book series.
I also collaborated with a local playwright to create a children’s holiday play with Mackinac Max as the lead character. “Max’s Merry Everything” was performed at the children’s museum. It was a thrill for me to see my character come to life!
When I’m not writing, I might be at the beach, walking a trail in the park, or riding bicycles with my husband and friends. Spending time with my children, family, and friends is important to me. Also, I really do love turtles!
I am currently a member of the Society of Children’s Books Writer and Illustrators - Michigan and a great group called A Pop of Indie. A Pop of Indie is a traveling book fair featuring books from Michigan’s Independent Authors.
